For those of us with small houses or tight budgets, I’ve created a little game that I like to call “Pyrex Bingo.” This game works well when you come across some Pyrex that you aren’t in love with but you feel compelled to buy.
First, take your Bingo sheet and get ready for some fun! Don’t forget snacks and water. Next, get your camera ready and head out to your favorite stores. As you spot Pyrex, take a pic like you are on safari. Then, this is the hard part, get your pictures printed. Check off your bingo list as you go through your pictures. Finally, find a nice photo album to store your pictures and your notes. I like to use index cards for my notes like when and where I was. You can also track purchase prices or how much you sold them for.
This system works for online purchases as well. I simply take a picture of my new star and I KEEP the shipping label. (The label underneath the label can be a fun conversation starter). The label often reminds me who, where, and when the piece originated. I can add additional notes about price and what not. I like to keep these records on hand as a sort of provenance. The best part is that I have an easy to grab reference if I ever need to make an insurance claim.
Most importantly, check off your Bingo card!
