Promotional 1936 Pyrex Recipe Cards

I am super excited to share this gem with you! I have a complete boxed set (almost) of the Promotional Pyrex Recipe Cards from 1936 than contains 36 recipes. Compared to the CMOG collection, I am missing the recipes for Cocoa, Baked Chocolate Drops, According to dealer catalogs of the time, Corning Glass Works offered various advertising tools to vendors to increase sales such as cardboard displays, illustrated booklets, counter price cards, envelope enclosures, and newspaper mats. You will notice the illustrated Pyrex stamp is indicative of the 1930s and it announces the “new” number 44 teapot with chrome handle and cover which was introduced in 1936. The recipe cards also include coffee recipes for the percolators that were also introduced at this time. The cards also mention the “new” test kitchen which was established by Lucy Maltby in 1931. The box is pretty beat up but on close inspection it says “Good Things to Eat Pyrex Ovenware” and uses a graphic from the 1930 “Getting the Most Out of Foods” catalog of a blonde woman in an apron carrying a casserole dish with silver cradle. I’ve posted all the cards below and encourage you to experiment this holiday season. Speaking of the holiday season, we are now taking orders for Christmas. We have stock! Can’t wait for shipping?
