Inn the 5th Edition of Pyrex: The Unauthorized Collector’s Guide by Barbara Mauzy, she mentions that Richard Kelly designed a lamp with Pyrex glass which appeared on the cover of the Gift and Art Buyer January 1941 issue. Specifically, the secondary source says “back in January 1941 cover of “The Gift and Art Buyer” magazine pictured a Pyrex lamp on the cover. Richard Kelly designed the wooden base and paper lampshade.” I was able to acquire a copy of that cover and article from the New York Public Library. Unfortunately, there is a faint “period” that separates the lamp from the Pyrex. So, mystery solved. There is a Richard Kelly Lamp and there is a Pyrex teapot. However, there is no Pyrex Lamp designed by Richard Kelly.
