The Shipping Saga

Good morning, everyone! I know that you are all getting anxious to receive your copy of the new book Shiny, Happy Pyrex People. I wanted to give you a brief summary of what I’ve been dealing with. Last May, I found a printer that could take my 537 page full color manuscript and produce it in “4 to 6 weeks.” After some technical difficulties, they received the file and we were in production! They said that I would receive my shipment by July 15th. On July 6th, I was informed that the printing was complete. Yay! The same day they also informed me that my project had been sent overseas. Boo! I shared some very stern words that 1) I never intended my project to be outsourced because of the breakdown in our supply chains 2) they should have disclosed this information back in May and 3) their promised date of July 15th was baloney in regards to international commerce which has been severely impacted by Covid. So this has been very frustrating and there are days that I am livid and other days that I want to cry. The first image is the original estimated shipping date. The second image is the most recent estimated shipping date. Unfortunately, there is no one to complain to and the whole thing is out of my hands. I’m very sorry that all we can do is wait.
